Algebra

Algebra, oh you study of numbers
And the letters that encumbers.
By starting out quite logically,
You just begin to let us see,
Then introduce infinity.

Now infinity as we all know,
Possesses a tendency not to grow.
For be it cut in halves or thirds,
Or simplified from complex surds,
It's only different in the words.

The point of infinity we are told,
Abandons values that once did hold.
Thus parallel  lines can unite,
Confusing more a student's plight.
Can you blame my quitting outright?
