Three New Gymnopedies
These Gymnopedies take their inspiration from the famed Three Gymnopedies of the eccentric French Composer, Erik Satie ( 1866-1925 ) These New Gymnopedies have musical details in common with the originals: the overall slow waltz tempo, dark character, rich harmony and "French Sensibility." However, they differ in being longer and more complex in form, in displaying fuller development of melodic material, and in featuring greater emotional contrast not only between the works, but internally as well, especially in the 3rd Gymnopedie.
